Store Policies

Return/Replacement Policy/Returning an Item
At Photography Lighting Co. Inc. our goal is to provide our customers with complete satisfaction. If for any reason you are unhappy with a purchase, you may return most products to us within 14 days after receiving your purchase for a full refund with no re-stocking fee minus actual shipping charges paid to the shipping company, which are not refundable. We strive to make our customers' return/exchange process hassle free as possible. As all returns must meet our guidelines, please review our return policy below carefully.

  • All returns must have an RMA number which may be obtained by calling customer service at (714)969-8600. Please include RMA in the return along with a copy of the original invoice. Returns received without an RMA number will be returned to the sender.
  • Returns must be made within 14 days of your purchase and must be received by us within 10 days of the RMA number issuance date.
  • Returned products must be in brand new condition and have all original manufacturers packaging, materials and accessories. Returns with obvious signs of use will not be accepted.
  • Securely package the product you wish to return within an outer box, do not write or place shipping labels or stickers on the manufacturer's packaging.

For the first 14 days of your purchase you may return the merchandise for a full money back refund, excluding any shipping charges as shipping charges are non-refundable, RMA number is required to return an item,and may be obtained by calling customer service at (714)969-8600. Paper and chroma key paint is non-returnable and non-refundable once opened.

Returned or exchanged products must be in brand-new, mint condition, and have all original manufacturers packaging, accessories, materials including instruction booklets, packing inserts, blank warranty cards, bonus items and items free with purchase.

Merchandise missing the original (UPC) Universal Product Code may not be returned. The original manufacturer's labeled packaging should be enclosed within an outer shipping box. Please do not write or place shipping labels or stickers on the manufacturer's packaging.

Securely package the product and include the RMA number and a copy of the original receipt.

Ship the parcel back to us freight prepaid. We do not accept COD or freight collect shipments. Returns must be shipped back with a tracking number using a trackable shipping method such as UPS or Federal Express that provides tracking and insurance as we are not responsible for damaged or lost packages.

Items that qualified for free shipping that are being returned will have the actual shipping charges deducted from refund or credit. The return shipping cost (the cost to send an item back to us) is non refundable.

Please allow up to 7 business days after we receive the package for your return/exchange/refund to be processed. An email confirmation will be sent to you once the return is processed.

Damaged/Missing Items upon delivery
Damaged in delivery: Upon delivery, please inspect the item thoroughly upon receipt to insure that it is in operable condition and that it's not damagged if you've found damage to the package or if merchandise is missing, please keep the original shipping carton. All damaged and damaged in transit claims must be reported by phone within 3 days of delivery. Otherwise the manufacturer or delivery company (ie. UPS, FedEx, USPS wil not replace broken items and will assume it was broken by customer after arrival and the customer will be responsible to cover replacement. So, please contact us immediately upon receipt so we can issue a damage claim with shipping carrier or locate your missing items. Please do not return the merchandise without going through these steps and contacting us first, as it may delay or void the replacement of the order or the issuance of a credit.

Missing items: All missing items claims must be reported by phone within 3 business days of delivery, contact us to report a missing item from your shipment.

Large items (extra large paper rolls etc.) shipped by truck (not UPS, FedEx or USPS): Upon delivery, please inspect the item to insure it's the correct model, in operable condition and that it's not damaged. Do not sign the delivery manifest until you have inspected the item. Once you sign for the item, you are accepting the product as is. If the merchandise is damaged, please make the notation on the delivery manifest, and have the person delivering the merchandise sign as well. Contact us by phone within 48 business hours to report the damage.

Most products are covered by a 1, 2 or 3 year manufacturer's US warranty from the date of purchase. No Black market or Gray market product is sold. Warranty provides coverage for defects in manufacturing only, and expressly excludes coverage for normal use, excessive wear and tear and/or physical/accidental abuse, loss and theft. The warranty is valid only through the manufacturer and improper repair or warranty service performed by someone other than the manufacturer may void the warranty. Photography Lighting Co. disclaims any liability for consequential or incidental damages, for breach of written or implied warranty of an item, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our manufacturer's warranty provides specific legal rights, however, you may have additional rights, which vary from state to state. As some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, the above limitation may not apply. Warranty is valid only in the U.S. For additional information on how to obtain warranty service, please contact us.

Bulbs/Flash Tube Warranty
Glass light bulbs and flash tubes are guaranteed to work upon arrival and are not covered by any warranty beyond that as the manufacturers consider them expendables. Please make sure to inspect bulbs and flash tubes upon receiving them. If you receive a broken or defective light bulb or flash tube you must notify us by phone within 3 days of receipt and a replacement will be sent to you. Do not disgard broken or defective bulbs or flash tubes as some delivery companies or manufacturers may require it back in exchange for replacements.

Sales Tax
For customers located in California we pay your sales tax for online orders. Phone orders and orders made for will call pickup are subject to added sales tax. All prices of taxable items include sales tax reimbursement computed to the nearest mil. The sales prices of products sold online include sales tax reimbursement computed to the nearest mil. We do not pay your sales tax if you are outside the state of California. For customers located outside California who interpret the sales tax law in their state to require that sales tax be paid, the customer will be responsible for paying their own sales tax direct to heir state. We do not have a presence or agent outside of Orange County California therefore most or all states may not not require sales tax be paid on purchases from our location.

Payment Methods
Credit Cards:Photography Lighting Co. Inc. accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Bill Me Later and Google Checkout. Please provide the correct billing information for the card being used. Billing information includes name, address and phone number of the card owner as recorded by the bank or card issuer. If using a shipping address that is different then the billing address, please provide a phone number for the shipping address.
Checks / COD: We accept checks by mail. Sorry, we do not accept COD orders.

Order Verification
Some orders might be subject to our verification procedure before we can process it. For your protection from credit card fraud or identity theft, we may ask you to verify that you're the card owner or that the order and the ship-to information are valid. If your order requires verification, you will be notified by email within one business day.

Track Your Order
We input the email address on your order into the shipment and the shipping company automatically emails you a tracking number as soon as it's available (Note: it may take up to 24 hours to be updated online). Please make sure to check your spam, junk and deleted email for tracking numbers.

Canceling an Order
You can cancel your order provided it hasn't yet entered the shipping process. If the item has entered the shipping process, it cannot be canceled. However, you can return the item for a refund. Once shipped and in route, the order cannot be canceled. If the delivery is refused, the shipping and handling charges for both ways will be deducted from the credit, and at our discretion a restocking fee might also be deducted.

We strive to keep most items in stock for immediate delivery (unless we specify that its available on Special Order basis only). In the event that an item is out of stock or for any other reason it's unable to be shipped, we will notify you usually within one business day. We will keep the order open unless told to cancel it. When the item is in stock, we will ship it out to you.

For international orders, due to high international shipping costs and taxes and duty fees, we cannot ship any partial order that includes backordered items. We will hold the order until all items on the order are in stock and available to ship. Contact us if you wish to cancel or change these items.

Delivery Requirements
A signature is required for most UPS shipments upon receipt. Someone must be at the address to receive the package and sign for it. Packages cannot be rerouted or picked up from UPS, FedEx or USPS. If you require additional help to receive your package, please contact us.
